Habits that wear bonding faster

How we estimate

We start from the commonly published US range of $300 to $600 per tooth. Small chip repairs use less material and sit lower in that range; covering the whole front of a tooth sits higher. Big-city practices and cosmetic specialists usually charge more, so those choices raise the range by roughly 20 to 25 percent. Lifespan starts at 5 to 10 years and moves toward the 3-year end of the published range for each habit that wears bonding faster. Ten-year totals count how many times each option would likely need replacing. Your dentist’s quote is the only real price.

Dental bonding cost questions

How much does dental bonding cost per tooth?

Most US estimates fall between $300 and $600 per tooth. Repairing a small chip usually costs less than reshaping or covering the whole front of a tooth, and prices are higher in large cities and at cosmetic practices.

Does dental insurance cover bonding?

Often partly, when bonding repairs a chip, crack or decay. Bonding done only to improve appearance is usually not covered. Ask your plan which code the dentist will use and how much of your deductible is left.

How long does dental bonding last?

Cleveland Clinic gives a range of 3 to 10 years. Grinding, biting hard objects and daily staining drinks shorten that, while good hygiene and regular checkups help it last longer.

Is bonding cheaper than veneers?

Up front, yes. Porcelain veneers are commonly quoted at $925 to $2,500 per tooth. Bonding may need replacing sooner, so the gap shrinks over ten years. The calculator shows both totals side by side.

How long does the appointment take?

About 30 to 60 minutes per tooth, usually in a single visit. Most people do not need anesthesia unless the bonding also fills a cavity.
